Cargill Leader Named United Way of Lancaster County Campaign Coordinator of the Year

LITITZ, PA – Patty Herr, Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate North America’s (CCC-NA) customer solutions team lead, was recognized on May 23 as the United Way of Lancaster County Campaign Coordinator of the Year. The award is presented to an individual for outstanding efforts, the use of unique or creative campaign strategies, and the implementation of model campaign practices to increase a company or organization’s campaign results.

“I’m honored to be recognized by the United Way of Lancaster County because I can personally vouch for the impact that community-sponsored programs have on the lives of those who use them,” Herr said.

Together with the CCC-NA United Way Committee, Herr increased employee giving by almost 50 percent and nearly doubled the number of employee donors.

“I think the reason our campaign was so successful was because we really made an effort to connect people with the United Way’s mission and to educate them on how a small donation could have a huge impact on the lives of individuals in the county,” Herr said.

Patrick N. Jinks, United Way of Lancaster County president, was quick to add his praise. “In United Way’s eyes Patty Herr is a model company coordinator, and her employer Cargill is a model organization. Both share a true commitment to their employees and to the community. We were delighted to honor Patty and Cargill for the key roles they played in helping us all LIVE UNITED.”

In addition to Herr’s award, CCC-NA was also recognized as a member of the United Way’s Pillar Society and its Circle of Honor. The Pillar Society recognizes organizations that contribute $100,000 or more annually through combined employee and corporate contributions. The Circle of Honor recognizes the quality of a company’s Workplace Campaign, employee support of and participation in United Way activities, and other non-monetary contributions, in addition to financial contributions.

Since 2010, CCC-NA has raised more than $480,000 for the United Way of Lancaster County, helping increase success for all in the areas of education, financial stability and health. United Way estimates that 1 in 3 persons are touched directly or indirectly by investments, and CCC-NA is proud to have a part in helping the Lancaster County community thrive.
